Miriam Waddington (1917-2004) was a Canadian poet and essayist from Russian-Jewish descent. During the 1940’s and 50’s Waddington worked as a caseworker and social work teacher. In 1964 she became a professor of English at York University till she retired in 1983.
Waddington published her first work Green World, a series of lyrics, in 1945. The short story “I’m lonesome for Harrisburg” was published in the collection Summer at Lonely Beach and Other Stories in 1982. Her works are famous for directness of expression and simplicity of style.Content:
